WealthWise Kids PlayLab

PlayLab™

PlayLab is the WealthWise Kids game studio. Every game puts your child (or your class) inside a real money decision and records what they actually chose, so play gives you evidence, not a quiz score.

How this is measuredEvery PlayLab™ game is built on the FLIQ Score™. Students play; the money decisions they make in the game become FLIQ readings for the adults who teach them. Nothing to grade, and no child is ranked.See how it runs through every program →

A PlayLab game is not a quiz with graphics. The child is given a situation and a limited amount of money, and the game records the decision they make — what they spent, what they held back, what they gave away, and what they did when the situation changed. Nothing asks them to recall a definition.

That recording is the point. It is what lets a teacher or a facilitator see how a group actually reasons about money, and it is what feeds the FLIQ Score. PlayLab is the name stamped on games built to that standard; it is a studio, not a website a child visits.

Why play, not just read

Kids learn money by making money decisions.

A worksheet can tell a child to save. A game makes them choose: the snack today or the goal at the end of the week, and then live with that choice tomorrow.

That is what PlayLab games are built for. The money is pretend, so a mistake costs nothing, and the choices are kept, so there is something real to talk about afterwards.

For teachers

How a session runs.

  1. Open The $100 Week on any device. No class roster, no student logins.

  2. Students play the day, about fifteen minutes.

  3. Ask one question: what did you hold back, and why?

  4. Repeat for five days.

  5. Run the discussion from the choices students made, not a quiz score.

PlayLab games are designed to show how a group reasons. Group views for teachers come with the PlayLab portal, which is still being built.

For families

Three questions for the car ride.

Your child plays The $100 Week on their own, about fifteen minutes a day, in any browser. You don't have to plan anything or give a lecture: the conversation afterwards is the point, and these three questions start it.

  • Quest 1

What did you spend on today?

  • Quest 2

What do you wish you had kept?

  • Quest 3

If you played Day 1 again, what would you change?

Have a code from your teacher?

CoinQuest opens with a code an educator gives the class, not with a sign-up. Educators who want codes for a group can ask us.

What the choices feed.

The choices made in PlayLab games feed the FLIQ Score™, an emerging measure of how children reason about money that is still being validated.

What the FLIQ Score measures

Where it sits

The place to practice in WealthWise Kids.

Financial Foundations
The K–12 curriculum. PlayLab is not a curriculum; it is where a student practices the decision a lesson just taught.
Adventures
Illustrated money stories for ages 5 to 14. A book shows a character making a choice; a PlayLab game hands that choice to the child.
Real-World Pathways
Career field trips to certified workplaces, where the money decisions practiced in a game are seen made at real work.
FLIQ Score
An emerging measure of how a child decides with money. It is still being validated, and it is labelled that way.

Built for kids first.

Common questions

What is PlayLab?

PlayLab is the WealthWise Kids game studio. Its games put a child inside a money decision and record what they chose, so that play produces evidence of how a child reasons rather than a quiz result. PlayLab is a studio and a quality mark, not a website a child visits.

Which PlayLab games can my child play today?

One is open to anyone: The $100 Week, a free five-day browser simulation that needs nothing but a browser. CoinQuest can be played with a code from an educator. Finders is closed while WealthWise Kids Adventures is in production, and FLIQ Runner and Goal Getter are both still in development.

Are PlayLab games free?

The $100 Week is free and needs no account. CoinQuest is entered with a code issued by an educator rather than bought by a family.

Is there a PlayLab website my child can log into?

Not yet. The signed-in PlayLab home that gathers the games together is still being built, so playlab.wealthwisekids.org currently shows a coming-soon notice. The open games are reachable directly from this page.

How is a PlayLab game different from an educational app?

An educational app usually tests whether a child can recall something. A PlayLab game gives the child a situation and a limited amount of money and records the decision they make. The output is a pattern of behavior, not a right-or-wrong tally.

Do PlayLab games collect information about my child?

The $100 Week collects no personal information at all — no name, no email, no account. Choices inside the simulation are recorded against an anonymous code. Games entered through a school, such as CoinQuest, run under the school's own arrangement.
